Contractor Quote Audit —
Is Your Quote Fair?

In 2026, typical electrical projects run $1,000 – $4,000 nationally — from the same verified engine as our calculators. Pick your project type below, enter what each bid actually says, and we compare it against your local market, line by line.

One tool, every project type. Coming from one of our calculators? Your ZIP and project are filled in automatically.

📊 Same engine as our calculators

Market anchors come from the exact same cost engine as our 134 cost calculators — BLS labor data × your ZIP's wage multiplier.

🧾 Line-by-line, not just the total

Contractors hide margin in details. We audit every line separately — tear-off, materials, flashing, supplies, disposal — where padded lines actually live.

📄 Free PDF negotiation report

A printable report of every flagged line with your local market range — push back with numbers, not vibes.

Simple pricing

Your first full audit is free — no account, no card. Pay once per project when you're comparing real bids. No subscription, no auto-renew.

Quote audit — common questions

Is the quote audit really free?

Yes — your first full audit is free, no account or card required. Free audits run in your browser and nothing is stored on our servers. One-time passes start at $9.99 for 3 audits — no subscription, no auto-renew. A Project Pass ($19.99, 30 days) unlocks unlimited audits across all 12 project types, clean PDF negotiation reports and free re-audits when contractors revise their bids.

How does the audit decide if a line is too high?

Every line item is compared against a local market range built from BLS construction wage data (labor) and current Home Depot / Lowe's material pricing, adjusted by your ZIP code's wage multiplier. Lines more than ~15% above the range get flagged ▲ high; far below can also be flagged ▽ low.

Do you sell my data or send me contractors?

Your project details are only shared with contractors if you request matching — never sold to advertisers. The tool requires no sign-up and free audits are processed in-session. See our Privacy Policy.

What paperwork red flags do you check?

Three checks run on every bid: license number shown, material brand named (not just "materials included"), and percent due upfront (many states cap deposits well below 50%). Each is flagged in the results and PDF report.
